Sterling Silver Norse Viking Pendant, Custom Cloisonne Glass Enamel Necklace, Scandinavian Design Jewelry

This necklace uses a traditional ancient Viking art design, the water spiral. Commonly found amongst Viking and Celtic art, the symbol was used throughout Scandinavia. I particularly love the flow of this pattern, as a reminder of life's cycles and ebbs and flows of the times.

I created this design in painstaking accuracy, using silver cloisonne wire that I applied to the surface of the sheet silver. I then added transparent glass enamels in cool blues with a touch of green, as a reminder of the sea - this symbol was often seen on Viking ships, so it seemed fitting to add ocean colors to the piece. Even though this is a traditional symbol, I think I created something unique and fresh to enjoy in modern times.
