Blue Enamel Viking Water Spiral Enamel Necklace

The blues of the stormy sea are represented in this handmade enameled pendant. Using my favorite design, the ancient triskele symbol of the Vikings and Celts adorns the piece, with shapes of the crescent moon invoking the blessings of the Norse goddesses. The Viking seafarers relied on fair winds and clear skies and this symbol was often seen on ship motifs, as if the swirling spirals could help speed them along their journeys. The enamels I used in this piece are all transparent shades of blue, and the style is cloisonne enamel, with the design applied in fine wires. The piece is set in my handmade sterling silver setting. The back of the piece is also enameled.
