Sterling Silver and Norwegian Thulite Stone Inlay Ring

I made this ring in a sculpted fashion called anticlastic raising. Basically, it means I hammer and shape a ring in sterling silver that creates a channel that I can put things in. In this case, I wanted to lay in some crushed pieces of Norwegian thulite, Norway's national stone. Stone inlay is an old process, and it involves taking bits and pieces of the rock, mixing it with some silver filings and glue, and laying it inside the ring channel, then filing it flat so it becomes all one piece. This is truly a fun process, creating a unique ring with lots of color and pattern to look at, as it goes around the entire circumference of the ring band.

Since this is a one of a kind piece, the ring is available just in the size I happened to make - a U.S. size 8. I'll make more soon, in case this isn't your size, as soon as I can crush up some more bits and pieces of pretty rocks!
