22k Gold Viking Goddess Var Pendant

This richly decorated gold necklace features my own unique custom granulation work and a blue diamond, celebrating the Norse goddess Var. Var was said to be the oath giver, keeper of vows and gifts of love and trust between people. The gold is for purity of spirit,and the diamond is for enduring love. I designed this small precious pendant as a hollow domed piece in 18 and 22 karat gold. The granulation spheres are tiny dots I meticulously apply by hand in a pattern, then carefully fuse them to the gold surface with a hot torch. This process is one of the ancient metalsmithing techniques especially favored by the Etruscans, but used all through the world since early jewelry making times. The blue diamond is 2.25mm round, just a touch of lovely sparkle.

The chain is a 14k gold chain, 18 inches long. This is a one of a kind necklace, to be a treasured heirloom and gift.
