Silver Filigree Mandala Pendant,

Mandalas are celebrated in cultures across the world, and this new necklace brings a timeless pattern to life in my handmade filigree and granulation designs. I fabricated the piece in argentium silver, a special sterling silver that has non-tarnish properties. Painstakingly applying the handmade silver granules on the front domed piece, I fuse them to the surface with the heat of a torch - using the same techniques as the ancient Etruscans. Then I fused the filigree twisted wire shapes to form the intricate mandala pattern. The domed front is soldered to a flat back sheet of argentium silver to give it dimension - it is substantial yet hollow for ease of wearing. The finished pendant is hung on an 18 inch sterling silver chain. The pendant is about 1.5 inches in diameter.
