Norwegian Silver Filigree and Blue Aquamarine Gemstone Flower Necklace

The glorious spring flowers inspired me to make this newest of my Norwegian filigree designs, in a multi-layered delicate necklace that resembles petals unfolding. In the center is revealed a delicate blue aquamarine, like the morning blue sky. I make all my filigree elements painstakingly by hand, first by making the intricate twist wire, shaping them into rings in 4 different diameters, then join them together in a stacked pattern of successively smaller circles, like a rose unfurling. I made the chain in sterling silver with a few of the filigree rings for extra sparkle. The clasp is a secure sterling silver push-type mechanism, easy to open and close. The necklace hangs 18 inches long. This would make an elegant wedding necklace, or a terrific Mother's Day gift.
